Early Life

Paul Montgomery Shore, better known as Pauly Shore, was born on February 1st, 1968 in the city of Los Angeles, California. Mitzi Shore and Sammy Shore, who was also a comic, established The Comedy Store in 1972. When Mitzi and Sammy Shore decided to break their marriage in 1974, Mitzi took sole ownership of the business. In a Jewish family home, Shore spent his childhood alongside his three brothers, Peter, Scott, and Sandi, and in 1986 he received his diploma from Beverly Hills High School. He was surrounded by comedians for a significant portion of his upbringing, and at the age of 17, he gave his first stand-up performance at the Alley Cat Bistro in Culver City. Sam Kinison became his guide, and he frequently gave Pauly the opportunity to serve as his opening act. While Shore was performing stand-up comedy on tour, he developed a comedic alter ego known as “The Weasel.” In this guise, he pretended to be a surfer dude.

Career

In 1989, Pauly received his big break when he was hired on by MTV to work as a video jockey. He held the job of VJ until the year 1994, during which time he hosted “MTV Spring Break” and made an appearance on “MTV Video Music Awards.” In 1990, MTV awarded Shore his very own show, which was titled “Totally Pauly,” and it aired for a total of six years. In 1991, he filmed a music video for the single “Lisa, Lisa, the One I Adore” from his first comedy album, which was titled “The Future of America” and was published the same year.
